Dr. Bernard Brown
Dr. Bernard Brown has worked at Dover Animal Hospital for 40 years, 13 years of which have been continued dedication after the transition to VCA Dover Animal Hospital. I was honored and felt very fortunate to remain on as the Medical Director. I grew up in Quincy, Massachusetts and graduated from North Quincy High School. I further pursued my education and graduated from Michigan State University in 1973 with my degree in Doctor Of Veterinary Medicine. I practice high quality medicine and will never settle for anything less than the best care for any patient being treated at our hospital. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats at home! "Chloe" my boston terrier, "Mia" & "Luna" my rat terriers, and "Sasha" & "Lulu" my siamese cats. In his free time I enjoy exercising, riding motorcycles, being a soccer dad, and traveling!
Dr Franklin is a 2001 gradute of university of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation she moved to Delaware and has practicing large animals medicine for nearly 11 years. During this time she has served the pleasure horse and cow communitites and has expanded into racehorse work over the years. She also works occasional weekend shifts at the DAEC.
Dr Franklin lives in Kenton, Delaware, with her husband, two children, three horses, two dogs, and an assortment of other pets, in her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and animals, riding her horses, and reading.
Dr. John Gross
University of Pennsylvania in 1990. Small animal veterinarian in a rural practice in lower DE. Married 26 years and father of six.
Dr. Matthew Weeman
Dr. Matthew Weeman is a graduate of The Ohio State University where he received his Doctorate degree in 2013 and graduated as the president of his class. He went on to obtain his Master’s degree in Comparative and Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Dr. Weeman spent two years practicing mixed animal medicine in upstate New York prior to relocating to the Eastern Shore in 2015. He practiced at another hospital for over a year before joining us at the Delmarva Animal Emergency Center. Dr. Weeman grew up on a dairy farm and is excited to share his passion for veterinary medicine with you and your pets. In his spare time he enjoys working with local 4-H groups and FFA teams. He’s an avid runner and has hiked to some of the highest mountain peaks in Utah’s National Parks. He lives with his wife Hannah, their dog Cooper and their cat that he will eternally refer to as his “kitten”.
Dr. Swain graduated in 2008 with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tuskegee University. She grew up locally graduating from Caesar Rodney High School and Delaware State University. Her favorite past time is reading. Dr. Swain resides locally with her husband, 2 sons, 5 dogs, 2 cats, and many chickens.
Joshua Levinson D.V.M., DACVECC
Dr. Joshua Levinson received a BA from Oberlin College
before earning his veterinary degree from the University of Florida
in 2002. He practiced emergency medicine at VCA Newark
Animal Hospital in Delaware for 4 years, and spent the next three
years in an emergency and critical care residency based at the same
site. He attended resident rounds weekly at the
University of Pennsylvania for 3 years, and rotated through the
anesthesia and cardiology services there as
well. Following the residency Dr. Levinson became
board-certified in emergency and critical care (DACVECC), worked as
a staff criticalist, and then became the medical director for
emergency and specialty medicine at VCA Newark Animal
Hospital.
Dr. Levinson has published on the use of ultrasound for
internal bleeding, and to assist his practice has received
specialty training in heart and abdominal ultrasound. He
recently moved to Dover with his Doberman, Theo, and is available
full time as a specialist at Brenford Animal Hospital, including
management of heart disease as well as general and preventive
medicine.
Gabi Partida
Gabi started working in the veterinary field when she was 17
years old; working her way up from veterinary assistant to
veterinary technician.
Before coming to Delmarva she was an emergency veterinary
technician in New Mexico but she is very excited to be part of this
amazing team here at Delmarva!
On her free time she likes to spend her time with her husband and 2
daughters
Amanda Halley joined the DAEC in . She has worked as a Veterinary Technician since 2002. She is married. She spend most of her free time with her dogs and riding her horse on her family farm.
Trista Price joined theDAEC in April of 2009. Her areas of interest are exotic medication and client education . She has worked in the veterinary field for 12 yrs. When not working she likes to spend time with her family and friends. She has a yellow lab named Flynn and neopolitian mastiff named Vaccaro
My name is Kristen Rios. I graduated from Polytech High School and attended Delaware Techs Veterinary Technology Program. I have been in the veterinary field for around 7 years. I enjoy spending time with my husband Damien and 2 dogs, Roxie and Hemi.
Cheyanne joined DAEC in 2013. She graduated from Lake Forest High School and studied Animal Science at the University of Delaware. Cheyanne has been a veterinary technician since 2008. She lives on a farm with her fiancé Shawn and their two children Harbor and Axel. They have with 3 horses Zip, Libby, & Reba, as well as 3 dogs Blondie, Bailey, & roxxy. Cheyanne enjoys spending her free time coaching & playing field hockey with her family & showing livestock.
Jeanine Whitman
Hello. I'm Jeanine Whitman, I have been in the veterinary field since 1997. I recently started here at DAEC in 2015. I have done mostly emergency work starting in 2001. My husband Shawn and I live on a farm with our four daughters. We have a variety of farm and indoor pets. I love to spend time with my girls, to bake, and spend time outdoors. I also have a traveling petting zoo and do pony rides for birthday parties in the area.
Pam McGinnis, LVT, Licensed Veterinary Technician
Pam joined the practice in 2009. Pam has a particular interest in dentistry but loves every aspect of veterinary medicine. She graduated from Harcum Jr. College with a veterinary technician degree in 1979 and has been in the animal field since that time. she also enjoys spending time with their daughters: Meredith and Kelly and grandchildrens: Philip and Madalyn
Lindsay Plummer has been a Veterinary technician for 7 years. She is currently the lead Veterinary technician for Duck Creek Animal Hospital in Smyrna Delaware. She and her wife have dogs, cats and chickens as pets. In her spare time she enjoys kayaking and fishing.
Kim Parker joined the DAEC in 2005. She has worked as a veterinary receptionist since 1997. She has 4 children. She has a St Bernard named Marti and a Chihuahua named Allee and Duppa mastiff/American Bulldog. Kim spends her free time baking and spending time with her kids crafting and enjoys crafting and pinterest.
Pam Derickson joined the DAEC April of 2001, she as worked has a Veterinary technincain since 1986. She is married to Keith and has one child Logan. Pam spends her free time going to cow shows with her husband and daughter. She also enjoys going to the Delaware State Fair each year. She also enjoys spending time out side.
